Short for Electronic Industries Alliance, EIA was a group that defined electronic standards in the United States. On February 11, 2011, the EIA ceased all operations and divided its activities among the CEA, ECA (now ECIA), GEIA, JEDEC (Joint Electron Device Engineering Council), and TIA.
Note
The EIA was originally known as the Electronic Industries Association until 1997, when it was renamed to the Electronic Industries Alliance.
