PPP
Updated: 04/26/2017 by Computer Hope

Short for Point-to-Point Protocol, PPP is a communication protocol that allows dial-up to connect to other network protocols like TCP/IP (Transmission Control Protocol/Internet Protocol) and IPX (Internetwork Packet Exchange). Unlike SLIP (Serial Line Internet Protocol), which is another popular dial-up protocol, PPP offers features such as password protection and error-correction.
