STEM may refer to any of the following:

1. As an acronym, STEM is short for "Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics" and is a broad term describing related fields of study and careers. With education, STEM refers to curricula emphasizing these subjects. In the workforce, it represents jobs and industries based on these disciplines. For example, careers in data science, software development, and robotics are considered part of STEM.

Why is STEM important?

STEM careers and education are important because they relate to many of the world's fastest-growing industries, which are important to an economy. These industries include AI (Artificial Intelligence), biotechnology, computer science, cyber security, data science, IT (Information Technology), and renewable energy.
