The UHK (Ultimate Hacking Keyboard) is a programmable split mechanical keyboard designed for both productivity and ergonomics. The picture shows a UHK 60 model keyboard with an attached wooden wrist rest and two modular thumb extensions. The UHK replaces the Caps Lock key with a 'Mouse' key, which functions as a key to control the mouse pointer using the keyboard. This keyboard also features a 'Super' key (like the Windows key), an Fn key, and a 'Mod' key for enhanced programmability and access to arrow keys and other control keys. Additionally, the keyboard has two additional buttons below the keys for the thumbs that can be programmed. With these keys and features, users can keep their hands positioned in the same place more often, which helps reduce RSI (Repetitive Strain Injury).
The Ultimate Hacking Keyboard uses its own software called UHK Agent to help program each of the keys on the keyboard, record macros, configure extensions, and update the keyboard's firmware. This keyboard and software are unique compared to keyboards with similar features because all settings are saved to the keyboard's memory. The keyboard's built-in memory allows it to store all your settings and retain them when switching between computers.
Finally, for those wanting to learn another keyboard layout or who may use multiple keyboard layouts, this keyboard makes it easy to switch between QWERTY, Dvorak, and Colemak. Each of these layouts also supports custom-programmed keys.
