Watt
A watt may refer to any of the following:

1. Abbreviated as W, a watt is a unit of electrical power equaling the product of amperage and voltage. It represents the amount of power a device requires to operate. Common measurements are kilowatt (1,000 watts), megawatt (1 million watts), microwatt (.000001 watt), and milliwatt (.001 watt).
When working with a computer power supply, it should indicate the amount of wattage it's capable of supplying. For example, a 500W PSU (Power Supply Unit) can supply up to 500 watts to the devices in the computer. When installing a device like an advanced video card, it may require more wattage than the currently installed power supply supports. In this situations, the power supply would need to be replaced with a higher capacity power supply (e.g., 850W PSU).
2. Watt is also used with the description of speakers to describe the amount of amplification available for the speakers.
