Web application

A web application or web app, short for web-based application, is software that runs in an Internet browser. Like desktop computer software or a mobile app, a web application provides a user interface, offers utility or entertainment, and the ability to access, create, store, or modify data.

Web applications are usually created using a combination of programming languages designed for use on the Internet. In most cases, web applications require less RAM (Random-Access Memory) to run. Today, many browser games are created to run as a web application, using the browser as the client, instead of requiring a local installation.
