LMS

Short for Learning Management System, an LMS is a program designed to distribute e-learning courses and services to users. LMS programs are used by the developers and instructors involved in an e-learning service. For example, a teacher can upload e-learning courses to their students, and track their progress using the LMS that's directly tied to the e-learning platform.
Some LMS programs are more generalized, including e-learning courses covering various topics, while other LMS programs only offer e-learning courses for specific topics. LMS programs also may target business users or home users, depending on the types of e-learning courses offered.
Today, there are hundreds of LMS programs and most of them charge a flat rate or monthly rate to access their e-learning courses. To help determine if an LMS program is right for you or your business, many offer a free trial or demo of their services.
