Short for Multiple Instruction, Multiple Data, MIMD is a technique where more than one CPU (Central Processing Unit) or multiple CPU cores work asynchronously to complete a project. More plainly, two or more processing units work with multiple data sets to complete a task.
An essential form of parallel processing, MIMD architectures are applied in many areas, including CAD (Computer-Aided Design), modeling, and simulations.
